Summary of Updates (as of 15 May 2025):

  • Vandom Voice Academy indirectly records billing address as automatically recorded by PayPal
  • Vandom Voice Academy shares elements of billing address (city, state/province (if applicable), zip code, and country of origin) only with licensed business accountants/tax authorities in the context of the normal course of business; all other identifying and potentially identifying information is redacted prior to submission to such accountants and/or tax authorities
  • Vandom Voice Academy retains billing address and agreement (or lack thereof) with Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and/or to receive regular communications indefinitely.

These updates were made in the spirit of full transparency with customers as well as to bring the Privacy Policy into unquestionable compliance with GDPR regulations. Further information on these updates can be found in the Privacy Policy below.

This Privacy Policy explains how Vandom Voice Academy uses the personal data we collect from you when you use this website, use the contact form, and book appointments.

What data do we collect?

Vandom Voice Academy collects the following data:

Personal identification information – Name/Preferred name, organization/studio name (when applicable), pronouns, email address, billing address (as recorded by PayPal)

Location information/Metadata – IP address (through contact form submissions only), billing address (as recorded by PayPal)

Transaction information – PayPal payment details (email used for payment, name attached to PayPal account and/or payments, PayPal Transaction ID), decision to Pay with PayPal or Pay Later with PayPal, billing address (as recorded by PayPal)

Consent information – Terms and Conditions acceptance/denial, Privacy Policy acceptance/denial, Marketing Emails acceptance/denial, Cookie acceptance/denial (in whole or in part), Lesson Recording acceptance/denial

Booking information – booking time and date (“Server Time”), consultation/lesson time and date and length, booking type

Recordings – Audiovisual recordings of lessons (with consent only)

Additional information – name attached to Zoom account, message contents (when applicable), time and date of message submissions

Cookie-related information – depending on the approved data access level (see “Cookies”), collected data may include:

a. Anonymous data – data that cannot be used to identify you (i.e. device type, browser version, and referrer or affiliate URL)

b. Pseudonymous data – data which can be used to track you but is not directly tied to personal information (i.e. UniqueID or UID)

c. Personal data – data which can be used to build a profile about you on this and other websites; this data may be used to identify you

Cookies

Visitors to the website may select a data access level to decide for which purposes we may use and share your data. Your data access level represents your consent to allow this site to access your data. Different access levels benefit you in different ways. The lowest level of access is required to ensure the site works properly and is secure. Depending on the approved data access level (see “Cookies”) and the type(s) of data collected based on the approved data access level, data may be automatically shared with any number of third parties. Vandom Voice Academy, however, does not manually distribute identifying or potentially identifying data to any third party (with the exception of some billing information – city, state/province (if applicable), zip code, and country of origin – as recorded by PayPal; such data is shared only with licensed business accountants/tax authorities in the context of the normal course of business). Audiovisual recordings of lessons remain on the Cloud for ease of access by corresponding Clients. Vandom Voice Academy does not manually give access to these recordings to any parties besides the aforementioned corresponding Clients.

How long we retain your data

If you use our contact form, your name/preferred name, organization/studio name, pronouns, email address, message contents, time and date of submission, and IP address are retained indefinitely.

If you use our booking services, your name/preferred name; pronouns; email address; agreement (or lack thereof) to Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and/or to receive regular communications; message contents, time and date of booking; billing address (as recorded by PayPal); and IP address are retained indefinitely.

Audiovisual recordings of lessons remain on the Cloud indefinitely (but may be deleted by Vandom Voice Academy at any time).

What rights you have over your data

You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To comply with the latest data protection laws, this site asks you for consent per purpose category, which gives you control over which 3rd parties have access to your data (through cookies or other tracking technologies).

This site supports your right to privacy and transparency. To comply with rights afforded to you under the latest data protection laws, this site maintains a record of your consent and allows you to exercise your rights as a data subject.
